More information

Just 50 kilometers from Buenos Aires, crossing the Rio de la Plata, there is the charming town of Colonia del Sacramento (Uruguay). Founded in 1680, the old town still retains many of the typical buildings of the time, Spanish architectural styles, Portuguese and post-colonial.

This tour invites us to spend a full day in the city Colonia. We leave from Buenos Aires and cross the Rio de la Plata on board the best ships of Buquebus (navigation time depends on the ship; ask for different options).

Then, once you arrive at Colonia, we stop for lunch in the old town and delight some of the typical delicacies of Uruguay.

We still have a super complete tour by bus. We meet the whole historic district, its museums, and the coast with its magnificent views of the Rio de la Plata. The walk ends at the “Plaza de toros Real de San Carlos” dating from the early twentieth century and which is one of the few still remaining in Latin America.

Before returning to Buenos Aires, we have free time to enjoy and buy souvenirs of this sensational ride.
