NORTH ZONE: TIGRE AND THE DELTA

Touring its canals and islands is a must

Outside of the city limits, Greater Buenos Aires has an incredible charm! Many tourists choose to go to Tigre and we can assure you that they are not wrong. Tigre is a city that is just over 30 kilometers north of the city of Buenos Aires. Its main attraction lies in being the gateway to the Paraná Delta, one of the largest deltas in the world. Touring its canals and islands is a must. Visitors can enjoy a completely different landscape from the city: exuberant nature and lots of green in an aquatic labyrinth without equal. But not everything is rustic and natural: this area enjoys very good infrastructure. In the islands of the Delta we will find recreational centers, clubs, hotels, restaurants and private homes that are really very picturesque. And from the port of Tigre you can find river transport to these areas: collective boats and private transports leave practically at any time.

But the Delta is not the only thing Tigre has to offer. We recommend visiting:

Port de Frutos, a huge market of local handicrafts, furniture, accessories, flowers, fruits and gifts that remain on the river.

Park de la Costa, one of the few amusement parks near the city, ideal to go with children.

Water park Aquafan, open only in summer.

The Tigre Art Museum, a beautiful building dating from the early twentieth century and containing an important art collection.

Casino Trilenium, which has almost 2,000 slot machines, 74 gaming tables, several dining areas and a theater.

Note: Having in mind that Tigre is a bit far from the city, and that it is not easy for those who do not know about the fluvial transports that leave from the port to the islands, we recommend tourists to take some of the tours with everything including that allows them to optimize their time, travel the most beautiful del Delta and make a stop in San Isidro, another beautiful city in the Northern Zone of Greater Buenos Aires, explore its historic center and its imposing neogothic cathedral.
